Zoom Into a PNG

magnify by a factor · centre-cropped · same output size · batch

Zoom into the centre of an image — pick a magnification, and the tool enlarges and crops back to the original dimensions, as if you'd stepped closer. Good for tightening a composition or emphasising the middle of a shot. Runs in your browser; nothing uploads.

    How zoom works here

A zoom factor of 2 shows the centre half of the image scaled up to fill the frame; a factor of 3 shows the centre third, and so on. The output keeps the original width and height. Because you're enlarging existing pixels, high zoom factors will look soft — there's no new detail to invent, just as with any digital zoom.

    FAQ

How do I zoom into the middle of a picture?

Set a zoom factor above and click Zoom — the centre is magnified and cropped to the original size. It runs in your browser.

Why does a big zoom look blurry?

Digital zoom stretches existing pixels; it can't add detail that wasn't captured. Keep the factor modest for a sharp result, or crop instead with Crop.
