Fit vs. fill
"Fit" scales the image so the whole thing is visible inside the rectangle, which means bars of padding on two sides when the ratios don't match — no cropping, no distortion. That's ideal for product images and galleries where every item must be the same size but nothing should be cut off. If you'd rather stretch to the exact ratio, use Change aspect ratio.

Will any part of my image be cut off?
No — fitting scales the entire image to sit inside the rectangle. Any size difference becomes padding, not a crop.
Can I make all my images the same size for a grid?
Yes — that's the main use. Set the same width and height and drop the whole batch; each comes out at that exact size, centred and padded.
