Tetradic Color Generator
A tetradic scheme is four colours arranged as two complementary pairs (90° apart around the wheel). It's the richest of the standard harmonies — lots of possibility, but it needs a careful hand. Pick a base and get all four. Computed in your browser; click a swatch to copy.
Handling four colours
Two complementary pairs give you warm and cool at once, which is powerful but easy to overdo. The reliable recipe: choose one colour to dominate, let the other three support, and watch the warm/cool balance so the palette doesn't split in half. Tetradic works beautifully for illustrations and playful brands that can carry the range.
FAQ
Is tetradic the same as a "square" color scheme?
They're close relatives. This generator uses the rectangle arrangement (two complementary pairs); a true square scheme spaces all four exactly 90° apart. Both give four balanced colours.
Too many colours?
Step down to triadic (three) or complementary (two).
